Ad Una Corda, Pezinok Choir - Slovakia
The singing association of Pezinok town dates back to November 1867. In the mid-20th century, activities of the choir were limited by religious persecution during the communist era. At present, choir is engaged in popularizing church music and has participated in many events, from concerts to festivals and competitions. It has toured 15 European countries, Israel and the USA. The choir also performs at important Church Feasts and regularly cooperates with professional orchestras. It has released two CDs and a number of public recordings for the Slovak Radio. The choir also organizes a series of concerts cycles and charity projects.
Marián Šipoš, Director
Marián graduated from Art School in Pezinok as a piano student and went on to study organ playing and singing. He started his role as an organist and cantor as a nine-year-old. With the choir, he took up the baton after his father in 1987, at the age of sixteen.
