Aliqua

A group of nine young women with a passion for music and performance founded Aliqua in order to further explore their love of music. Ranging in age from 18 – 29 years old, the girls hope to rejuvenate the image of choral music at home in Vancouver, Canada, and beyond. The group select, learn and conduct all music on their own and present an eclectic, exciting and unique repertoire. They focus on contemporary works in many cultural styles and languages, endeavoring to give audiences a taste of something new and different. From Holst to Gershwin to the Eurythmics, from Inuit chants to smooth gospel, from steamy salsa to the traditional Yoiks of Lapland, Aliqua covers enough ground to have something for everyone.
