Sam Marcaccini is emerging as one of Canada’s rising vocal talents. He
has received favorable reviews for his operatic roles as Doctor Grenvil in
Victoria’s Pacific Opera production of La Traviata and as Norimo in the
Belfry Theatre’s premiere of the new Canadian Opera the Vinedressers.
Pacific Opera’s 2002/2003 season included Sam as The Royal Commissioner
in The Gypsy Baron, and double roles in both La Boheme and the Marriage of
Figaro.
Mr. Marcaccini has won many awards including the Victoria “Rose Bowl” and
went on to win the Senior Level B at the Provincial/National Level for young
singers in the British Columbia Festival of the Arts.
Sam is currently teaching Voice at the Powell River Academy of Music
while pursuing his career in performance. Up coming events for Sam include
bass soloist in Mozart’s Requiem with the Kathaumixw Festival Choir and the
Victoria Symphony, guest appearances in local fundraiser concerts. Sam plans
to perform a recital in New York in the fall. |
