Vancouver Orpheus Male Choir

In 1992 a group of men held a meeting in a Canadian Legion. Whether the beverages sold there influenced their decision is not known, but the outcome of the meeting was the birth of the Vancouver Orpheus Male Choir, “for men of all ages who love to sing.” The choir now has 50 members and is known for its entertaining concerts that combine rousing, emotional and humorous songs enhanced with choreography performing pieces from the male voice classics, folk songs, sea shanties, Broadway, opera choruses and spirituals. In the past three years the choir has enjoyed the experience of performing joint concerts with some excellent and well-known male choirs from England and Wales. The choir has sung in many cities and towns throughout BC and last year were in Nova Scotia where the audiences were very appreciative and responded to the performances with a standing ovation at each concert.
