VIVA Tour Choir

The
VIVA Tour Choir from Victoria, BC, Canada, is drawn from 3 groups: the Boys
Concert Choir, the Girls Concert Choir and the Chorale, with an age range of
10-16. Previous tour groups have performed in places such as London's Church
of Saint Martin-in-the-Fields, Caerphilly's renowned castle, Wells
Cathedral, Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, and Vienna's resonant Karlskirche,
as well as in North American events like the Golden Gate International
Children's Choir Festival, the World of Children's Choirs 2001, and 2 times
at Kathaumixw. The 1997 Tour Choir received a silver diploma at the Budapest
International Choral Competition. At home, VIVA runs choirs for age 6-16
which perform jointly twice a year and separately in many capacities such as
with the Victoria Symphony, at conferences, and for charities.

Connie
Foss More
Connie Foss More, Co-Conductor Founding Artistic Director
Connie Foss More is a charter member of international, national & regional
Kodály organizations and has been one of five members on the Early Childhood
Commission of the International Society for Music Education. She has been a
music teacher since 1969, with students from pre-school age through
adulthood in schools, universities and conservatories. She hold Bachelor's
and Master's degrees in music. Her choirs consistently earn praise in
concerts and competitions.

Steven
Price
Steven Price, Co-Conductor Steven Price has extensive
experience as an international baritone soloist, voice teacher, choral
conductor, chorister, church musician, pianist and bassoonist. He recently
received a Bachelor of Education degree in secondary school choral and
instrumental instruction at the University of Victoria. While growing up in
Powell River, he was a member of the Vancouver-based BC Boys Choir, and from
1997 to 2000 he was Head of the Voice Department at the Powell River Academy
of Music, before moving to Victoria with his wife and children. |
