One Human Family Gospel Choir ~ Canada

One Human Family Gospel Choir (OHF) Vancouver Island Chapter. is a multi-faith, multi-cultural, humanmulti-generational organization founded on the principle that there is only one race - the human race, one family, the human family.

The One Human Family Gospel Choir has been performing on Vancouver Island for 4 years and is well known for its inspirational music composed and arranged by Eric Dozier. With stylized arrangements and spirited lyrics, Eric Dozier fuses African-American gospel and traditional spirituals with world rhythms into a musical elixir that the New York Times has called “rousing”.  The songs, drawn from African-American spirituals, bring an inspiring, uplifting message of love, encourage us to build pockets of peace in the world through freedom, and fill our souls with hope for a better world.

The Vancouver Island One Human Family Gospel Choir has participated in numerous concerts and community events, such as singing for the North American Indigenous Games, the Nanaimo Blues Society and the Islands Folk Festival. The choir has helped to raised funds through many concerts to support organizations including the Nanaimo Hospice Society, the Victoria MS Society, the Cowichan Family Caregivers Society, the Stephen Lewis Foundation, the Kapasseni Project, REMCU, the Black History Awareness Society, Child Haven and local food banks.

The One Human Family Gospel Choir features chapters in the US and Canada and aims to develop bonds of friendship across racial, religious, cultural, age, gender and socioeconomic lines with music serving as the initial bond to ‘unite the world, one song at a time’.
