Fullerton College Chamber Singers - USA

Fullerton College Chamber Singers is under the direction of John Tebay, who has been the Director of Choral Studies at Fullerton College since 1985.  The 42-voice ensemble has performed throughout the western United States, the Pacific Northwest, the East Coast, Canada, Mainland China, the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany and Austria.  They have been a featured choir at American Choral Director’s Association Conventions and the National Collegiate Choral Organization Convention.  They have competed at the International Eisteddfod Music Festival Competition in Wales, the Seghizzi International Choral Competition in Gorizia, Italy, the California International Choral Competition in San Luis Obispo, California, USA, and the Singkreis Porcia Spittal International Choral Competition in Spittal Austria.

 

Conductor John Tebay

John Tebay began his career in 1976 as Minister of Music and Worship at Calvary Church of Placentia, California, USA, where he directed the music program for 17 years. In 1981, he became the choral director at El Dorado High School in Placentia, California. He has been director of choral studies at Fullerton College in Southern California, since 1985. During that time he has conducted the 110-voice Concert Choir, the Chamber Singers, the Collegiate Chorale, the Men’s Chorale, the Women’s Chorale, the Vocal Jazz Ensemble, and the song and dance troupe, Bravo.  Mr. Tebay’s choirs have performed throughout the United States and Canada.  They have performed at ACDA and NCCO Conventions, and they have been a guest choir in Mainland China, performing with the Beijing University Symphony and the Shanghi University Symphony.  In addition, the choir has competed in the International Eisteddfod Choral Competition in Llangollen Wales, the Seghizzi International Choral Competition in Gorizia, Italy, and the Singkreis Porcia Spittal Choral Competition in Spittal Austria.

John has been the interim music/worship director for the Rancho Capistrano Church of San Juan Capistrano, and the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, California.  He led worship at the Vineyard Christian Fellowship of Anaheim, California from 1995-2008, and is presently the pastor of Worship and Music at First Evangelical Free Church of Fullerton, California.

Mr. Tebay has conducted honor choirs throughout the Southwest United States including the Arizona All State Honor Choir, the Coastal, Northern and Central Regional Honor Choirs for California ACDA, and the SCVA Honor Choir.  He is in demand as a guest conductor, choral adjudicator, choral competition judge, and clinician.  John lives in Southern California with his wife, Debby Tebay, and their four children.
