The Choir has been an active participant in the annual Hong Kong Schools Music Festival since its establishment and has won a considerable number of prizes in various choral classes over the years.
In summer 2008, the choir participated in the 9th China International Chorus Festival was awarded the Gold Prize. What was more encouraging, in summer 2010, they won the Gold Medal and the World Championship in the 6th World Choir Games held in Shaoxing, China in the Mixed Youth Choir category. In summer 2012, they won the Gold Medal of the World Choir Games in the same category in the 7th World Choir Games in Cincinnati, USA. Later in the 8th World Choir Games in Riga, Latvia, the Choir obtained the Gold Medal in the same category once again. In 2016 summer, the choir participated in the 13th China International Chorus Festival, and was awarded the Gold Prize and the Grand Championship together with the First Prize of the Grand Final CICF Choral Development Fund.
Lee Siu Mei received her education in Hong Kong and furthered her graduate studies in Britain, majoring in music education. Having attained a Diploma in vocal performance from the Trinity College of London (LTCL), Ms Lee pursued her Master’s Degree course in Australia, majoring in choral conducting. Under her baton, her choirs were awarded the Gold Medal and the World Championship in the Mixed Youth Choir category in the 6th World Choir Games as well as the Grand Championship in the 13th China International Choral Festival. Her choirs, with extremely good blending voices and tone colour, are outstanding and very expressive.
